Merry Christmas, ~erin-hime! 
Haha, I'm so terrible. When my computer broke down, I thought hey, since I had no access to digital stuff, so I had every opportunity to actually get some traditional stuff done - everyone would get traditional pictures this year! But then I managed to find a temporary solution, and I had access to digital art again, and these kept being put off - as traditional stuff usually is when I have digital art to stream. So these didn't get completely finished, which I feel terrible for. The digital background is all right - I figure if I slap enough textures on it, it will start to look somewhat traditional - but I still feel badly.
The idea behind this one was that each of the characters would be shown with an animal that represents them - which was very easy with Psyche, as her mythological namesake is always shown with butterfly wings, and as the spirit/soul was represented by a butterfly, it seemed like an obvious choice. For some reason I kept thinking that monarch butterflies, in particular, were associated with Psyche, but all the depictions I found weren't exactly picky (some of them she had blue butterfly wings, some of them she had purple - there was no consistent appearance, except they were all butterfly wings).
Butterflies aren't exactly cuddly, but you can have them crawling over your hand and such, which is clearly what Psyche's doing here. They are pretty to look at, even if they're delicate. And certainly appropriate for Psyche too. I'm glad I came up with the animal theme, since I'd wanted to do something with the whole butterfly connection for a while, but could never think of anything. This is simple, yet it works. Not quite as iconic as her arrow, but pretty.
And, of course, she's got to have her stripes. They didn't turn out as nice as I would have liked, especially the pink (should have picked another color to shade with rather than red) but they certainly look nice on her. Had to have some pink somewhere on her, after all. >.> The blue-green of the background also contrasts nicely with the stripes and butterflies.

Ha ha, when I saw this in my messages, I saw the other two first, so I was like...well, Frejya has a kitty, Allura has a puppy, so what in the world would Psyche get? And then I looked at it, and went...oh, duh. Butterflies. Sure, not as cute and cuddly as a puppy or a kitty, but it certainly makes a lot of sense!
I do love how these are traditionally colored, since its a great way to take advantage of a bad situation. It's sort of funny, because I was wondering how in the world you were going to do these, since you seemed to be constantly working on Circle sketches. I knew you were going to be sneaky about it, naturally, and I have absolutely no problem with traditional art! Just reminds me I need to to more of it, really. >.<
And this is totally awesome. I'm sort of envious that you're able to tilt her head like that, since that's not something I can really do with my current style. I'm not sure what sort of butterflies she's associated with, but the monarch butterfly is a good choice. Easily recognizable and suggest she's royalty. Works out on many levels. (Although now I think it'll associate her with purple and blue wings, because I bet that's pretty. >.>)
Ha, I suppose her thing's going to be stripes now, huh? I didn't intend for that, but I suppose it's a different 'thing' than the normal plaid, so I'll take it. She looks great, and the pink looks fine. You can tell it's pink, after all, and as long as it's reddish, it works. The entire thing looks awesome, and certainly not anything I would have thought to expect!
