Left to right: Aerona Argall (blue-skinned alien, © ~erin-hime), and Konstancja (tattooed girl, © ~callisto-chan) – the lineart was by ~erin-hime but I did the colouring. Yet another one of our collabs. :)

I tried something different than I usually do with colouring; adjustment layers. The idea came from a tutorial I saw here, and while it’s similar to another tutorial I use occasionally, the results look somewhat different. Not sure if I like it; the shadows seemed to come out too dark, even for sunset.

Funnily enough, this collab is a little lot like another collab of these characters we did a little over three years ago. Huh. Funny to see the differences three years can make.

The background sucks, and that mirror especially sucks. >.< This is what I get when I rush a background – it’s supposed to be a New Age-y shop Konstancja works at that a good deal of the plot happens in, and like a lot of small shops, it’s pretty much crammed with stuff. And mirrors, but I was only drawing one. :P It doesn’t look very overstocked – maybe there was a sale. :P But not entirely happy with the background, not that it matters.

But I like how it turned out. Naturally I’m biased to my own character (did no one tell her you shouldn’t wear white after Labour Day? Apparently not), but Aerona turned out pretty nice as well – I only hope ~erin-hime agrees with me. ;)

One problem with this...it's totally making my muse go Earthia! No, I need to finish Purebred! I need a plot for you!

But otherwise, wow. I mean, it's always wow, isn't it? It's so nice to see my art properly and awesomely colored. Aerona's eyes are a little droopy, making her look dopey, but that's okay, that's entirely my own fault. I can't see problems in my line art until someone else colors it. Konnie looks great, of course, and I love her tattoos. I am never going to draw them, but they look awesome, and fun to draw for you.

Brown looks good on Aerona, who knew? (And I like how she's still wearing some red. Girl can't not wear red.) And, well, it's not after Labor Day, so I think Konnie's fine, don't you? If she's wearing something like that, I think it's before Labor Day. :P She must be jealous, though, with Aerona looking all skinny and cool, and her being...pregnant (which Aerona would trade positions in a heartbeat, actually). She looks good, though, and I like the bright yellow on her.

But I'm biased. Aerona looks really good. :D

Our next collab will have to be with Purebred characters, but I knew you like coloring blue skin, so I had to let you do Aerona. Hee. But still, awesome as always. I'm glad you're fairly open to collabs. :D

Oh dear. Maybe the next collab should be Purebred, even if vampires and aliens are an unusual mix. :P

It's wow for me too. My art usually doesn't look quite like this (although now that I know the technique, I might have to try it on one of my own pictures. >.> ) Yeah, I like Aerona too, and Konnie's fun to colour (if not a little time-consuming). That's why I generally don't draw her in very revealing things, because that would mean having to draw more of the tattoos. ;P (I should really do a reference for those...)

Yeah, I thought the brown against her blue skin would look pretty (and it'd probably work in her human form too, but the contrast is larger here due to her skin), and the red came about because Aerona has to wear some red, and the shoes seemed like a nice way to do it. (And heh, CS initially starts well after Labour Day, which is why I made the comment. Maybe Aerona dropped by during the summertime. :P)

We're both biased. :P And almost always open for collabs unless something else needs to get done. ;) But I'm glad you think it's awesome.
