Sailors Antheia (left in the pink and green; property of ~erin-hime) and Plastic Epoch (right in the dark green and red; property of ~callisto-chan)
Why is it that when I want to draw something that Ive planned out for a while, it takes ridiculously long to draw and colour but when Im just doodling to give myself a break, I can whip this up in a day or so? Why? I havent drawn anime at all since at least 2006, and even that was just a one-time sort of thing; if you want to include when I drew that exclusively, youd have to go back to about 2003-02, possibly into 04. And yet I got the urge, after becoming fed up with monotonous writing-of-plot-summaries, to just doodle. So this came out, even though I tried to tell myself drawing senshi was a horribly addictive thing and I should not do it if there were other things to be done. Like some sort of addict, I ignored my own advice, and we get this. ~erin-himes Antheia reminded me, just a little, of Plastic Epoch. Theyre not identical; Plastic Epoch is more hyperactive and youthful than the (supposedly) quieter and more reserved Antheia, but theyre both delicate (I dont know how ~erin-hime would define delicate, but Plastic Epoch is emotionally sensitive when she bothers to pay attention to the rest of her team). Add to the fact that their colours are remarkably similar, and mental connections will be made regardless of mental similarities. I actually have no idea what colour Antheias hair was supposed to be. Photoshop told me it was a very pale pink, so I used pink. Not sure if thats right. It could have been a very pale strawberry-blonde for all I know. It looks okay here, though. They look cute together, though. ..if I could color like that, I'd be so happy <3.

Yeah, Antheia's hand does look a little out of place on second glance. Possibly I could have made it look foreshortened through clever use of shading, but I agree, it does look off.
Hee, the big eyes are adorable, aren't they?

And honestly, when I saw I had a new deviation, I thought maybe you were posting some CS design things. Certainly not fan art. >.< Certainly not fan art for me.
Which, by the way, I love.
I never considered these two to be really similar. I mean, Antheia is basically what you really think when you see delicate; soft-spoken, kind, against violence of all sorts. But now that you mention their similarities, it works. Sort of like how Metis and Iron worked. It's hard to compare two very different senshi teams.
I have to agree with Wild, though, but I think you already know that I love the way you color. Moreso than the way I color. I mean, I wouldn't be falling over backwards to do collabs so my art can look pretty for a change if that wasn't the case. Wonky hand aside. Something had to not come out right, you know? I probably wouldn't have noticed it if no one pointed it out, truthfully.
I think the large eyes actually work really well with your style. I wouldn't call it anime style per say, but then, I consider my style anime, and it's far from it. What do I know?
Of course, much love, much surprise to be had. *squee* Thanks so much for drawing my senshi along side your own! Even if you may have screwed up both our muses for a bit.

What can I say? I make odd mental connections sometimes; sometimes they work and sometimes they don't. I think it sort-of works, and I'm glad you can see where I'm coming from a little bit.
The amazing thing is, I think the scan is pretty bad compared to the original, which is why I'm surprised people like the colouring. Pleased, but surprised. And the big eyes and simplified nose don't look as out of place as my original dabblings. Odd because I'm not used to it, but not terribly off. I consider it anime at least, if not because of the eyes.
Hee, you're very welcome!
