Catholic school uniforms: flattering on no one.

Well, this picture is sort of a spoiler for the restart, but I’m sure you get the idea why I wanted to restart – from left to right: Christine Schumacher, Shelby Summers, Eric Dessler, and Carly Dupree.

Christine: is pretty much the same as she always was – initially sort of introverted, gets along horribly with her brother (in that love-hate sort of way), and generally just there. Also needs a tan and a sandwich, and not necessarily in that order, but the school is small and so her paleness doesn't really stick out that much. I’m considering writing the new story in first-person POV – like anything, it has its’ strengths and limitations – and it would probably help me get into her head a little more. Her one constant friend in the school is…

Shelby: who in most other incarnation has longer hair and was named Amy. What with a sudden revival of another story that has a reddish-haired character named Amy (okay, more of a red-blonde, but still), I thought it best to rename her in order to avoid confusion; Shelby was the first name that came to mind. Sort of a gossip, she’s slightly superficial, thinking mostly of herself, though still somewhat protective of Chris. Is rivals, for some unknown reason, with Carly.

Eric: doesn’t know what the heck is going on between Shelby and Carly. Literally no idea. It’s sort of baffling, and as he gets along reasonably with both, does not quite know whose side to take, if there is a side to take. Reason would dictate that Carly, having decided that they should be boyfriend and girlfriend, is the side of less long-term pain. On the other hand, Christine and Shelby seem a bit less uptight…

Carly: who has little defining traits besides being the obligatory snotty popular girl to act as a minor antagonist for the first little bit. Outright vicious with Shelby, but is more pleasant with everyone else, in that backhanded sort of way. Frankly, it’s amazing how she has any friends with her personality, not to mention the other popular girls who are not nearly as snotty. But friends she does have, and it is thanks to said friends that Christine has not received more of a tongue-lashing than she has with affiliating with Shelby.

The designs are essentially what I want (Carly dresses how the popular girls tended to dress at my school, with rolled-up kilts and decidedly non-uniform shirts; everyone else is slightly more casual), with the exception of Eric’s hair – the colour is right, but I struggled in coming up with a short hairstyle for him, so it looks odd (the side view doesn’t help). I will have to work on that, though it will likely be through a slew of design pictures. I'm sure you'll love that.
