Whoo, first art of 2011! (I totally had to double-check that I'd written 2011 on the watermark. It's been a week and I'm still not fully used to it. )

Anyway, I'm planning on restarting CS, hopefully for the last time, and decided to do a bit of art to get me back in the mood. It's kind of-sort of like this image from the last time I restarted, except not quite. For one, I'm trying to downplay the huge mood whiplash that happened in the first version, so I'm going to try and make the opening chapters seem less...I'm not quite sure the word I want to use...YA-ish? That sounds sort of right. So it stands to reason this image has less petty bickering in it.

I changed Shelby's design a little bit from last time, because I had an idea that I thought might work. I like this design. I don't know why I made her wear a skirt over jeans, though. About halfway through finishing this, I had an idea to change Christine's hair slightly...but I was feeling too lazy to change what was already there. Bad me, I know. But she's still skinny and short, so some things never change. (I screwed up on her right arm, though. It's a little too skinny).

Other than that, all the updating has been purely minor; Eric's hair's a tiny bit longer than it was before, since when I started the second 'book', I pictured him as having shaggier, longer hair than in the first one, and generally liked that mental picture. It's not quite the same as what I pictured, but I like it. I've also decided Eric likes hoodies, because I remember in my first design of him, I drew him in a hoodie and thought it looked good on him.

Yeah, it's not a phenomenal picture but at least it's not another batch of chibis but it's something.
