EDIT 05/17/16: Changed Kayden's design to her new design as Kailyn.

Considering I've been drawing in this style, somehow a digital version was bound to happen sooner or later. It's slick, sure, but I wonder what it'd look like with a simpler style. Probably a little like my vector art, since it's nearly the same style. Still, this was fun to do, even if it's a bit of a random mashup of characters: anijel's Hailey Sinclair, erin-hime's Kayden Kailyn Vance, and my Christine Schumacher.  You'd think, with me drawing it, Christine would be the one in the middle but...no. I figure since I've given her brown hair instead of blonde, she'd do better to be off to the side...because that leaves the flaming redhead in the middle to draw attention. It'd just look weird if the redhead was off to one side. ;P (Also since I stopped giving Christine a porcelain skin tone, Kayden's pale redheadedness stands out even more.)

These three really have nothing to do with each other, being from different stories and all, but there are a lot of little, vague similarities that lead to this: all of them have some sort of space connection (Hailey being a magical girl hiding out on Earth, but actually being from Hoth a cold/icy planet...somewhere; Kayden being half-alien from her sci-fi story; Christine...well she started life as a terrible fan senshi, and her stories have always involved space to some degree even though I'm thinking of getting rid of that), and all of them have/had purple as 'their' colour (Kayden's always had purple, even from her magical girl days; Christine's original senshi/magical girl colours were purple and silver, although the shade of purple varies -- originally it was a blue-purple, but I later shifted to the Imperial purple she has here). Actually that's about it, really, but I've drawn crossover pics for less so I guess that's good enough! I guess you could also add that they all have some sort of origin or background in magical girl stories too, but at least in the case of Kay and Chris, they've gone all over the place and are pretty far removed from their original versions.

They all look nice -- Hailey's outfit looks very wintry (I love that sweater of hers), Kay's...not so much, but just picture those leggings as fleece-lined or something. And then there's Chris, where I went 'oh shit idk what to put her in??' and slapped her in something that seems acceptable, but it's certainly not coordinated, not like the other girls. Then again, Christine "WTF DO I Do With My Hands" Schumacher is basically just...there. I mean her story's basically in limbo because I need to suss out the twenty million things going on with the plot and distill it down to, uh, the core plot so I haven't really thought about her or CS for a while. So I suppose that explains my poor choice in outfits...or at least this outfit, because she probably has multiple. ;p Not that this is a picture ruiner, but she does look off compared to the others. Ah well. There'll be more time to draw her in a gazillion different outfits eventually!

Given the purple and space theme, the background seemed obvious...star field's a little wonky but you can only really tell at full size. The things in the background are all associated with the character they're closest to: Hailey's magical girl persona is associated strongly with stars (hence the necklace), Kayden's mother comes from the planet Aeolus (hence her necklace); Christine started life as Sailor Selene (...she literally just got a necklace because the other two girls had one and I didn't want to be left out! Judging by the theme of who gave each girl their necklace, I have a limited amount of options as to where Chris got her necklace from!).

Mind you, the star/planet/moon don't work together as a unified space picture because the placement/sizing for everything is just kind of weird, but considering the simple nature of the background I wasn't going to fight and/or break Photoshop trying to make it look just right -- because even if I did, you wouldn't be able to see it when I resized. At least this way everything is visible. Making space art is fun, if not time-consuming. Still, it was worth it to make that planet, because it looks pretty cool close up, trust me on this. ;)

Anyway, it's a simple picture, but it's fun to do! I hope you guys like it as much as I do, anijel and erin-hime!

I had to dig out an emoticon that expressed my feelings over this, and it wasn’t easy.  This is…I can’t even.  I mean, it’s just so perfect and awesome (and a little random, sure, but who cares) and shiny.  OMG.  Just…OMG.

The thing that sucks about this is that you have to know I’m going to demand moar of this from you.  Just give me time.  I’m already trying to come up with the next project for you to tackle in this style.  (Oh, I know!  Something involving Aerona!  Because, you know, blue skinned alien girls can convince you to do anything.  Just gotta find a character/characters to go with her…)  I just want to see moar of this.  Lots and lots moar.  Because I seriously can’t even.

It’s sort of funny, because it was pretty without the lines colored, but I am ridiculously glad that you decided to color the lines, because holy crap!  It is rather funny how that one little details causes the whole thing to POP like you wouldn’t believe.

I’d had to say that the connection between these girls is rather simple.  I mean, sure, Hailey is still technically a magical girl, since, you know, her story was never actually written, but I’m sure, given time, anijel might find a way to angle it into a simple sci-fi story.  But all three of them started off as magical girls who had purple for their main color.  (And yeah, Kay and Chris started off as senshi, but given that their characters changed completely from that version, plus I believe we’ve created new versions of those fan senshi that have nothing to do with these guys…I consider their magical girl incarnations as their official first incarnation.)  Plus, I think Hailey comes from anijel’s only sci-fi story, so there’s that as well.  And I think CS is your only sci-fi as well?  And GE is too sci-fi to be of any use.  ^^;  I sort of lost what I was trying to say, other than, damn it, I can make this work!

Hailey will always have the best outfit so long as she has that.  It’s so stinky pretty, its stupid.  Sure, it looks wintery, but that makes sense, given that she’s from a frozen tundra of a world.  God, she turned out so pretty!  So exotic!  I love how she looks in this style.  All sexy and whatnot, even if she didn’t intend to be.

Kay, on the other hand, looks straight up adorable.  (And those are tights she’s wearing, not leggings, you know.  I didn’t say anything because they’re opaque enough to work just in black.  But they are seriously tights.)  I still love that outfit on her.  Modern enough that she could potentially pass as modern day, but different enough to suggest she’s not.  Plus purple.  And I love her pose.  I mean, I think she’s more in the Christine school of posing, but whatever.  Sometimes she gets it right.  (And yeah, I think having the red head in the middle balances things nicely, since the other two have darker hair.)

I actually think what Chris is wearing is really cute!  (Well, I don’t approve of the plaid you put in the heart because it’s not pleasing to the eye with the purple you used for her shirt, but…she’s not my character.)  I really, really like it!  It says a lot about her sense of style – cute and causal.  I just…really like it.  And I had figured that necklace – which, okay, I knew you gave to her because of the other two – was given to her by Eric, because it’s a heart and all that.  I like it, anyway.  I like Chris!  I think it’s funny how it was one picture you did of her as a brunette in the past, and even though she’s always been a blonde, I can’t see her as anything but a brunette now.  And I love her hair!  Short and wavy is so adorable!

The background is amazing.  I can’t get over the background (even if, technically, Aeolus isn’t exactly…right…)  It doesn’t look like a mess.  It looks awesome.

I could probably ramble on more, but it’s just be a repeat of what I’ve already said.  So shiny.  So pretty.  So much love.
