Sailor Nemesis for *Wildnature03, done partly because I thought it would be nice for me to give her some fan art, considering how much I’ve enjoyed her comic, and partly as a ‘thank you’ for some art recently that I really liked.

This was finished far quicker than I imagined. Started sketching late on the 29th, and I’ve got a finished picture about a day later. Granted, it’s just one person in the picture, but still, I’m surprised. About the only thing I’m not pleased with is the hair. Wild draws such lovely wavy hair on Nemesis, and I tried (and failed) to emulate that. Wavy hair, apparently, is not a strong point.

Otherwise, I’m pleased. Pose is a little awkward, but not terribly so. The roses were an unexpected surprise; at first they sort of looked like red lettuce, but then after a little shading they turned back into roses, or at least a decent representation of them. I think my favourite part is the wings on the blade; that was an unexpected surprise, and I may have to make note of the method for later use. It probably wouldn’t work well on close-ups or light-coloured feathers, but on something like this it looks nice.

It’s sort of funny. ~erin-hime and I both gave her Nemesis art on two consecutive days, with both of our pieces having a space background (though I will admit mine is just random deep space), posing her with her weapon, and even the poses have a very slight similarity to them; just very slight, though. Poor Wild mixes us up now and then; this is just going to confuse the hell out of her.

Anyway, there’s not much else to say about this (except the background is sort of lame near the bottom, but I didn’t really know what to do. >.> ). I hope you like it, *Wildnature03!
